"PRAYER WITHOUT CEASING" IS NECESSARY FOR ALL CHRISTIANS
At first it may appear very difficult to you, but be assured, as it were from Almighty God, that this very name of our Lord Jesus Christ, constantly invoked by you, will help you to overcome all difficulties, and in the course of time you will become used to this practice and will taste how sweet is the name of the Lord.
ST.NICHOLAS
St. Nicholas followed the words of our Lord, Lay up treasure for yourself in Heaven, by saying his prayers every day, by fasting, and by performing many good deeds. God was so pleased that He worked many miracles through him. Because he was able to calm storms on the sea he became known as the patron saint of sailors. Because he protected children (he even raised 3 children from the dead!), he is also a patron of young people.
The Rescue of a Wayward Daughter through the prayers of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker
Then, one night, the mother fell to her knees and began to pray fervently to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, begging him to take the place of her daughter’s father and to save her from an evil destiny. The old woman said that never in her life had she prayed so fervently. She felt the presence of the Saint next to her, and she spoke to him, pouring out all the pain in her heart that she had been suffering for the sake of her daughter. And Saint Nicholas heard her.
COMMUNION & HOSPITALITY
Permission to receive the sacraments in the Orthodox Church has nothing to do with hospitality, although some may see it that way.
THE ADVENT PERIOD IN A HOME LIFE
What is the meaning of the feast of the Nativity of Our Lord in our family life? How can we live through the preparatory period of Advent as a Christian family? Can this meaning be truly and naturally, unpretentiously, embodied in the experience of a family, a home with children, teenagers, adults and old people?
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!

WHAT IF ALL IS IN VAIN?
Is your name Zoya?” asked Natalya. “Yes.” “They are looking for you, you need to go, somebody has betrayed you…” Zoya looked at Natalya (they were of the same age) and said, “Where am I to go? The small ones can’t walk a long distance, and we’ll be recognized.” And then from being just a neighbor Natalya became what the Gospel calls one’s ‘neighbor’.
